This was a ridiculously stupid book. I can't believe I bought it. I thought it unfair that the author made money for adding zombie scenes to someone elses hard work. Not to mention, it was fairly graphic.

There you have it folks. I thought about toning it down and being nicer, but in Ms. Austin's defense, I felt it needed to be said!!
I heard people raving about this book, so I thought "sure, I'll give it a shot". I had to stop reading when Elizabeth ripped the heart out of the ninja and ate it... that's the limit.
But, that's what book clubs are for: to read things you would have normally not read. So in that sense, success! I got outside my comfort zone for sure.
What did you all think?
I haven't been able to get the book from my library yet, but I'm glad I read this. Now I won't waste my time. Sounds ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI've been a slacker when it comes to book club. I am glad to hear your review on this. It does sound ridiculous. I was actually just going to put it on the list of books I wanted for my birthday and now I know not to waste my time. I am half-way through The Help finally and I'm loving it. Now all the discussion is making much more sense:)
ReplyDeleteLike Shayla I didn't like this book at all. I just kept reading it thinking that at some point it would be as good as my friend had said it was. I had heard how the new author's writing, and the zombie story line fit right in with Jane Austen's -it didn't! In fact I thought it changed Elizabeth's whole personality. Like Shayla again I also bought the dumb book, grrrrr!
